The story of the BIGFOOT® monster trucks started in 1974 when Bob and his wife Marilyn ordered a brand-new F-250 pickup truck. As the truck grew to compensate for Chandler's heavy-right-foot driving style, he and the truck were nicknamed BIGFOOT.

After and few years of running in local mud runs and off-road events, in 1981, in an empty corn field with a video camera rolling, Chandler and his “monster truck” BIGFOOT drove up and over a pair of junk cars. History was made. Soon after, Chandler was asked to duplicate the stunt in front of a live audience and thus ignited the rise of the monster truck industry. Monster truck racing quickly became the main event and 1990 saw Team BIGFOOT's first Points Championship. To date, 23 different monster vehicles have carried the BIGFOOT name and have won a total of 50 points championships!

The list of other accomplishments compiled by the BIGFOOT team over the last 46+ years is quite remarkable. BIGFOOT has visited over 26 countries, has appeared in hundreds of TV shows and magazines, and owns 2 Guinness World Records. Today the team counts a “who’s who” of big business as their sponsors, including Firestone, Summit Racing Equipment, Odyssey Battery, PPG and many more. BIGFOOT was also named one of the Top 5 Marketing Vehicles of all time, joining the Navy’s Blue Angels and A-B Clydesdale Hitch.

In 2012, BIGFOOT #18 broke the monster truck long jump record by flying over 214 feet. Also, the very first and only 100% electric monster truck was finished, BIGFOOT #20!
